Advanced settings

This section describes advanced options that can be applied to the program. These options are set manually.

  1. How to set up default program settings that applied to all users on the same computer?

There are several ways to do that. Use the following options below:

    A. Settings file in common directory

Create the bopup.ini file in the following path under users common directory which is different for Windows systems:

Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 R2
    "\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\B Labs\Bopup Messenger\"

Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows 8, Windows Server 2012 and later
    "\ProgramData\B Labs\Bopup Messenger\"

    B. Settings file in working directory

Place configuration file in same local folder where executable file of Bopup Messenger is located, it is the installation folder.
Note that the settings file located in the working directory (option B) has a higher priority that the file in common directory (option A). Thus if both files are present in the system then the local file (case B) will be used by the messenger application.

Just copy the existing settings file from the user's profile directory at "\Documents and Settings\USER_LOGON_NAME\Application Data\B Labs\Bopup Messenger\", edit the file and keep all options you want to set as common ones for all users on the computer. Or use "IM Client Configuration Tool" which is a part of Bopup Communication Server.

Common settings displayed in the program as disabled items. Users cannot change these settings from the program.
